About Me:

I believe relationships of all kinds have long-lasting healing power. Romantic, parenting, friendship, or even your relationship with yourself, healthy bonds can help heal many different wounds. But sometimes things can get in the way of your goals for your life and relationships - traumatic experiences, beliefs that hurt instead of help, new mental health symptoms, or behaviors that aren’t working for you. I love coming alongside clients and helping them learn new ways to understand and cope with these issues. One of my favorite things is helping couples learn to change unhealthy patterns and build the relationship they’ve always dreamed of.

You may also be feeling anxious or depressed- these are issues I’ve helped clients with my whole career. It can feel incredibly overwhelming to live every day on edge and worried. You may also be facing some new big changes that are making it harder than usual to get through your day. I find so much joy in helping clients find coping tools that fit them, and better understand what beliefs drive those anxious thoughts.

Depression can feel like a heavy fog that makes things you once enjoyed seem like a burden. It can even be a struggle to just to get out of bed in the morning! I can unravel the thoughts that are making your days so hard and help you find new ways to lift that fog of depression..

If you’re someone who struggles with any of these issues, you know you can get through them but you need some help or guidance, and you’re ready to do the work, you came to the right place! Get in touch with me by calling me, email me, or just schedule an appointment now – I would love to get connected and start working with you.

Education & Experience:

I earned my Bachelors of Psychology from Whitworth University and Masters of Counseling from Multnomah University in 2015. I have been working in the field since 2014, and am licensed as Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon.

I am experienced working with adults of all ages facing a wide range of mental health symptoms. In the past, I have helped clients tackle anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, personality disorders, psychosis, chronic pain and especially relationship issues. To expand my services for couples, I completed SYMBIS premarital counseling training, received training in the renowned Gottman Method for couples and completed Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home training for new and expecting parents.

Philosophy & Approach:

In my office, therapy is a collaboration. The counseling relationship is a unique bond based on respect for your knowledge of your own struggles and needs, and my experience and training. I always consider it a high honor when someone chooses to build that connection with me.

My job is to help you better understand yourself to find the motivation to accomplish your goals. I use an eclectic approach for both individuals and couples focused on challenging problem thoughts and beliefs, understanding and coping with emotions, and forming healthy attachments with others. Therapeutic modalities I use include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Motivation Interviewing, Gottman Couples Therapy, SYMBIS premarital counseling and Trauma-Informed Care.

Personal Life:

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and two cats. I also love a good book, a good meal, and a good movie.
