Life Discovery Counseling Services has been serving the Portland metro since 2014 — helping individuals, couples, and families discover the life they were made for.
We started with a simple conviction: that people can change, and that meaningful, lasting change is possible when insight meets action and faith grounds it all.
Life Discovery Counseling Services was founded to bring together two things that don't always find each other — clinical excellence and genuine Christian faith. Our counselors are not just professionally trained; they are personally committed to the belief that God is the central character in every human story, including yours.
We serve a wide range of clients: devoted believers who want therapy that honors their faith, those who are spiritually curious or exploring, and those who hold no religious beliefs at all but are drawn to our warmth and clinical approach. Everyone is welcome. No one is pressured.
Real insight to real life with real change — for every person who walks through our doors.
Life can present unexpected difficulties that challenge your ability to cope. You are looking for more than survival — you want genuine resolution and a real path forward.
As trained professionals in human psychology and relationships, and as devoted Christians personally, we are experts at helping people navigate through life wisely — with both skill and compassion.
God is our focus and our foundation. Our abilities and effectiveness come from Him, and we seek to glorify Him as we provide healing and restoration to your life and relationships.
We believe it matters that you know what we stand for. These are the theological convictions that shape how we understand people, relationships, and healing. We share these not to exclude, but to be honest about who we are.
God is the only supreme, eternally self-aware being — our creator and sustainer. He is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ and is a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Getting who God is right is foundational, because from this everything else is defined — either incorrectly, which can be destructive, or correctly, which is life-giving.
Humans are uniquely created in the image of God, bearing infinite worth and dignity. Yet we are also people who struggle, fall short, and live in tension between who we are and who we were made to be. Understanding this tension is central to understanding why people struggle — and why healing is both necessary and possible.
God sent His Son Jesus to take on our failures and suffer the penalty we deserve. Jesus lived the perfect life we cannot, and He rose from the dead — offering forgiveness, restoration, and new life to all who trust in Him. This is the foundation of hope, and the reason we believe lasting change is always possible.
We believe the deepest healing integrates psychological insight with spiritual truth. We use evidence-based clinical methods — and we also believe that Scripture, community, and a living relationship with God are resources for healing that secular therapy alone cannot provide. We never impose; we integrate where you invite it.
Reaching out is often the hardest part. We make it easy.
