Faith-integrated, clinically grounded care for individuals, couples, and families — at our Beaverton and Clackamas offices, and online throughout Oregon.
Christian counseling at Life Discovery is not a separate methodology — it is an orientation. We bring contemporary, evidence-based clinical practice together with a genuine Biblical worldview, trusting that the most complete healing addresses the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
Our counselors are practicing Christians who integrate faith naturally and thoughtfully, following your lead on how central you want it to be in your sessions. Whether your faith is the anchor of your life or something you're still exploring, you are welcome here.
For many clients, their faith is not just a belief system — it is the lens through which they understand suffering, relationships, identity, and hope. Secular therapy, no matter how skilled, may miss this dimension entirely. Christian counseling ensures your faith is not bracketed out of the room but brought in as a resource for healing.
We believe the deepest healing integrates psychological insight with spiritual truth. We use evidence-based clinical methods — and we also believe that Scripture, prayer, community, and a living relationship with God are resources that secular therapy alone cannot provide.
We serve a wide range of clients through our faith-integrated approach:
No one is pressured. Everyone is welcomed exactly as they are.
At Life Discovery, we operate from the conviction that God is the central character in every human story. Our counselors are not just professionally trained — they are personally committed to the belief that God is sovereign, that people bear His image and carry infinite worth, and that lasting change is possible through both clinical care and spiritual renewal.
This does not mean every session includes prayer or Scripture. It means every session is informed by a worldview that sees you as more than your symptoms — as a whole person with a story, a soul, and a future.
Your first session will focus on getting to know you — what brings you in, what you have tried, and what you hope for. You and your counselor will discuss how central you would like your faith to be in the work. Some clients want it woven throughout; others prefer to keep the focus clinical with faith as an occasional touchpoint. We follow your lead.
You can expect warmth, directness, and skill. Our counselors are trained to handle complex issues, and they bring the same clinical standards you would find at any excellent practice — plus the freedom to engage your faith as a genuine asset to your healing.
Christian counseling integrates evidence-based clinical therapy with a Biblical worldview. It treats the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — rather than addressing emotional or mental health in isolation from faith.
No. We welcome clients at every point on the faith spectrum — devoted believers, those who are spiritually curious, and those with no religious beliefs. No one is pressured to engage with faith in their sessions.
The clinical methods are the same — CBT, EMDR, attachment-based approaches, and others. The difference is that a Christian counselor sees your faith as a resource for healing, not something to bracket out of the room.
Christian counseling addresses the same range of concerns as any professional therapy — anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief, codependency, and more — within a framework that honors your spiritual life.
Only if you want to. Some clients welcome prayer and Scripture as part of their work; others prefer a fully clinical approach. Your counselor follows your lead.
We typically schedule new clients within 2–4 weeks. Our intake coordinator will match you with the right clinician for your situation and faith background.
