Aaron is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in Oregon. He entered private practice with the goal of building environments where people could work well, think clearly, and grow sustainably.
He founded Discover Counseling as a solo practitioner and grew it into a successful group practice. He later co-founded Life Discovery Counseling Services with Nathan, which has since expanded into a multi-site group practice serving the Portland metro area.
Aaron's work draws on over 14 years of experience as a professional counselor, supervisor, and business owner. He co-hosts the Shrink Think podcast with Nathan, exploring clinical work, professional judgment, and the realities of building meaningful careers in the helping professions.
He co-founded Life Discovery out of a desire to broaden his reach — supporting more people in the community than he could serve on his own, without compromising strong Biblical values or clinical excellence.
Nathan Hawkins

Nathan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the State of Oregon. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Theology and Education from Multnomah Bible College.
As Clinical Director, Nathan oversees the clinical quality and effectiveness of the Life Discovery counseling staff, providing regular supervision and ensuring the highest standards of treatment. He has been in private practice for over 10 years, developing expertise in treating many difficult and complex clinical issues.
Nathan co-founded Life Discovery Counseling Services out of a vision and passion for serving the Christian community with effective clinical skill — without compromising strong Biblical values. He also co-hosts the Shrink Think podcast and operates Life Encounter Counseling in Tigard, Oregon.
