About Christa

I believe that therapy begins with hope. This means that change is possible and you are not stuck. I desire to help you maintain hope and support the change process.

I believe that you are capable, resilient, and worthy. This means I operate from a strengths-based and solution-focused perspective. While it is helpful to identify true challenges, we often fixate on problems and lose sight of the strengths and possible solutions that can help us navigate the trials life brings.

Have you ever felt like your thoughts and feelings are a hopelessly disorganized room that you don't know where to begin cleaning? This can be daunting to navigate alone. I would be honored to join you — bringing clinical insights and evidence-based practices as we bring organization to your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

I predominantly work with those who are 14–24 years old, couples, and families. However, due to my range of experience, I am open to working with others outside this range.

Education & Experience

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Hillsdale College and my Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from George Fox University. I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and Certified Social Work Associate (CSWA).

I have worked as a community-based crisis mental health therapist with children and families, gaining wide experience in home-based, inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with:

  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Depression
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Relationship and family conflict
  • Self-esteem and identity
  • Adoption issues
  • Christian counseling

My Approach

I blend motivational interviewing, collaborative problem-solving, art, narrative, developmental, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to meet the specific needs of each person I support. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), neurobiology, adoption issues, substance abuse, and trust-based relational intervention.

I value both the therapeutic relationship and the importance of your relationships with others — and I am eager to support you in restoring connection.
