I love working with people to help them figure out what has been going on to cause their distress — and then to help come up with effective strategies to make things better.
I particularly enjoy working with people who struggle with codependency or codependent relationships. It can be difficult and confusing to understand relationship issues, but I find it rewarding to help people disentangle the pieces and start to feel safer, freer, and healthier in their relationships.
I also really enjoy working with anxiety issues, including stress, panic attacks, phobias, and past trauma. Watching clients learn and implement coping skills — and start feeling better — is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.
I obtained my Master's Degree in Counseling from Multnomah University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Corban University.
I have over five years of experience with a wide range of clients in various settings — home-based, inpatient, residential, and outpatient. Most of my work experience has been with adolescents and adults, and I have also worked with families and couples.
I specialize in maternal and pregnancy-related issues, including pre- and postpartum depression and anxiety, and parenting stress. This transition can be both wonderful and very difficult, and I am passionate about supporting parents through it.
I work with individuals dealing with: codependency, postpartum depression and anxiety, parenting stress, general depression, anxiety and stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, trauma, and Christian counseling integration.
I put a high value on the therapeutic relationship. For therapy to work, there needs to be trust, open communication, and a high level of comfort. I strive to convey authenticity and empathy, and to provide a non-judgmental space where you can fully engage in the process.
My hope is that through our work together, you will begin to develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and beliefs — and through that awareness, start the process of becoming a more whole and balanced person.
