Our Counselors

At Life Discovery Counseling Services, we have Counselors and Interns on staff. Level 2 Counselors have completed their Master’s Degree in Counseling or Psychotherapy, their internship requirements, and are nearing completion of licensure requirements with the State of Oregon. We individually hire each of our staff members, looking for the best and brightest to serve our clients. Our counselors are highly trained and continue in regular supervision with our Clinical Directors until they achieve state licensure.

About Troy

I was born to a long line of farmers and ranchers and spent most of my formative years in Texas and Oklahoma. Oregon has been my home for twenty years now and I really enjoy it! The snow capped mountains; tall timbers and crashing pacific swells still inspire awe.

I enjoy working with my hands and putting in a full day’s work. For fun I usually enjoy spending a day on the town with my wife. Most of the year you’ll also find me taking in the scenery from my motorcycle.

My father worked as a pastor for over thirty years. Together I’ve watched my parents face and overcome many challenges. Along the way a passion for seeking truth and helping others was instilled in me. My most invaluable inheritance…a strong belief every life holds immeasurable value and great purpose.

I have served as pastor myself since 1996. Hard to believe it’s been so long! It has been an honor to assist families, students and adults of all ages. Empowering them to discover purpose. Equipping them to reach their goals. Partnering for effectiveness.

I believe in a goal directed, collaborative approach to change. Together we will focus on what you want to achieve. With our eyes focused largely on the present and toward the future we will discover the strengths and resources you posses. We utilize these to help you reach your desired goal.

Together we will discover the positive directions for change you desire.

About Robin

I earned my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling through Grand Canyon University. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association.

Everyone is created with innate worth and the potential for emotional, relational, and spiritual wholeness and growth and a deep sense of satisfaction and purpose. I love coming alongside people to offer support and hope and help them make sense of overwhelming and confusing situations, identify possible solutions, and acquire helpful tools. Clients can then make changes that move them toward greater fulfillment and peace, both personally and in their relationships. I work with issues related to anxiety, depression, and stress management; trauma-related concerns; couple, family, and other relationships; and decision-making.

I draw from a variety of evidence-based methods, such as CBT, mindfulness, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), and internal family systems (IFS), to help clients gain relief, identify new perspectives and opportunities, and find solutions. I also enjoy helping individuals address faith questions or incorporate a Christian perspective into their sessions.

My specialties include anxiety/stress, codependency, depression, emotional regulation, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, social anxiety, spiritual issues, and trauma/PTSD.
